Other indication of broken or compromised springs and pulleys are when the door won’t stay open or the door opens slowly

When the remote garage door opener doesn’t work

There may be times however when the garage door’s settings have been changed accidentally. This is not a common problem, but when you’re working and carrying ladders around, you can accidentally hit the button that allows the door to respond to the remote. You will have to read the instruction manual that came with the door to find the switch.

Sometimes the door will only close if you hold the button in. Usually this indicated something is wrong with the photo lens, dirty or broken.

Finally, there are times when the remote works, but you have to be practically against the door for it to work. In cases like this you will need to adjust the radio antenna that transmits the signal. Again, consult your instruction manual for proper procedures.

Strange sounds coming from my garage door
